About me

How many years of experience do you have with ADHD?
I’ve been working with people with ADHD since 2013, so over a decade now. In that time, I’ve supported individuals across the lifespan, with a strong focus on adult ADHD, especially where neurodivergence overlaps with anxiety, trauma, or complex life experiences.

What are your areas of expertise or special interests within the ADHD field?
I have a real passion for ADHD from a public health perspective. I’m especially interested in how early identification, equitable access, and patient-led care can reduce wider health inequalities and improve long-term outcomes. I also have a special interest in the late-diagnosed adult population, helping people understand themselves better and thrive, sometimes for the first time.

Are you affiliated with any professional organizations or associations? If yes, please provide details.
I’m a registered nurse and hold a recordable qualification in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing and prescribing. I’m a proud Queen’s Nurse, and I’m also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

What are your career highlights?
Seeing people’s lives transform after a their ADHD diagnosis, that never gets old!

Do you participate in ongoing professional development activities? If yes, please describe them.
I stay sharp through clinical supervision, ADHD-specific CPD, reflective practice, and I always stay up-to-date with national guidance and journal literature. I’ve also worked in nurse education teaching nurses for years, so I have a genuine love for learning and sharing that knowledge with colleagues.

What is the best part of your job?
For me, it’s the “lightbulb” moments, when patients realise their challenges have a name, that support is available, and that things can get better. Being part of someone’s journey from self-doubt to self-acceptance is a privilege I’ll never take for granted.

Are you involved in any research, clinical trials, or publications?
I recently contributed a chapter to a nursing textbook on decision-making in health promotion, and I’ve also published peer-reviewed articles on preparing nurses for prescribing roles. Research-informed practice is a big part of my professional ethos.

Do you have any specific hobbies or interests outside of your professional life?
Outside of work, I really enjoy walking with our three miniature dachshunds and spending time outdoors. I also have a passion for DIY and home renovation; I’m always in the middle of a project (or six!) and love turning ideas into reality around the house.

Is there anything else you would like to add or emphasize in your bio?
I’m someone who really values empathy, authenticity, and curiosity, both in and out of clinic. My practice is informed by a strong public health foundation and driven by a belief that everyone deserves to be understood, heard, and supported in a way that works for them. A little sense of humour, I find helps too!
