About me

My journey into children’s nursing was a deeply personal one - my wife and children are all diagnosed with ADHD, and it inspired me to dedicate my career to understanding and supporting neurodivergent young people. Professionally, I’ve worked with children with ADHD for over 7 years, where I’ve been responsible for assessment, treatment, and overseeing the local NHS service offer for ADHD.

My clinical interests centre around anxiety, OCD, and how these conditions present within the education system. I’m especially passionate about working with schools to improve support and implement adaptations that allow children to thrive in secure, stable, and supportive environments. Advocacy is a major part of my role - I firmly believe every child should be given the best opportunity to reach their full potential.

I am a registered member of both the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and the British Academy of Childhood Disability (BACD). My commitment to ongoing professional development includes attending the TES SEN Conference, where I stay up to date with the latest thinking and policy around education and special needs support.

A career highlight for me was supporting a patient to achieve their dream of becoming a police office - an inspiring reminder of the real-world impact our work can have. The most fulfilling part of my job is the direct contact with patients - watching them grow, adapt, and succeed as therapies and support take root.

While I’m not currently involved in active research, I’m in the early stages of launching two projects: one looking at the effectiveness of school initiatives for ADHD, and another exploring the impact of ADHD in children with acquired brain injuries, whether through illness or accident.

Outside of work, my children are my world. I also enjoy gardening, rugby, and getting lost in a good book whenever time allows.
