Job Summary:

The Head of Behaviour & Support Interventions is a strategic leadership role focused on designing, scaling and overseeing non-pharmacological interventions and support systems for people who access Keys Health Services. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the prioritisation and delivery of psychosocial support and education (including ADHD Coaching, CBT and wellbeing interventions), environmental adjustments (i.e. workplace assessments and workplace training, school-based learning), and integrating these with our person-centred care pathways across the wider Keys health services

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic plan and implementation of non-pharmacological support systems, ensuring they are specifically tailored for neurodivergent individuals and those with mental health needs. This will include pilot design, evaluation frameworks, scalability planning and demonstrating return on investment.
  • Create and refine person-centred support pathways and intervention models that integrate psychosocial support with educational and environmental adjustments.
  • Ensure all non-pharmacological interventions align with the broader organisational strategy of Keys Health Services, research priorities and are in line with national best-practice standards and evidence
  • Provide strategic oversight for the delivery of psychosocial intervention, ensuring they are safe, ethical, evidence inform.
  • Establish and lead a robust audit cycle to measure effectiveness of non-pharmacological interventions. This will also include development of outcome measures, reporting frameworks and continuous improvement cycles.
  • Work with the Head of Patient Safety to develop protocols to identify and mitigate risks associated with non-pharmacological support, ensuring a proactive approach to patient safety.
  • Design and deliver high-level training programmes for staff on neurodiversity-informed practice and psychosocial intervention techniques.
  • Provide expert professional supervision, coaching or reflective practice structures for practitioners, fostering a culture of reflective practice and continuous professional Where specific professional supervision is required, ensure that the support processes are in place to ensure CPD/supervision meets the needs of the individuals.
  • Promote a "person-first" culture across the organisation that prioritises non-medical, holistic approaches alongside or as an alternative to traditional medical models.
  • Work cross-functionally with clinical, operational and research teams to ensure non pharmacological interventions are seamlessly integrated into assessment and treatment pathways.
  • Lead initiatives that place the voices of neurodivergent individuals and those with lived experience at the heart of service design and evaluation.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Extensive experience leading multidisciplinary teams within neurodiversity, mental health, or specialised educational settings.
  • A proven track record of designing and implementing non-pharmacological pathways
  • Professional experience working with autistic individuals, those with ADHD, or other neurodivergent profiles, specifically regarding environmental and social barriers.
  • Experience leading organisational change, such as transitioning services toward more person-centred or "social model" approaches to disability.
  • Experience developing governance structures, including risk management and audit cycles for non-pharmacological interventions.
  • Success in collaborating with external bodies such as Local Authorities, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), or educational regulators (e.g., Ofsted/CQC).
  • Ability to translate complex theory, research or best practice into practical, scalable support systems across service areas.
  • Skills in using data and service-user feedback to measure the impact of interventions on wellbeing and educational attainment.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills to influence senior stakeholders and advocate for the rights and needs of neurodivergent individuals across both clinical and non-clinical environments.
  • Ability to design high-level training programmes and provide supervision, coaching or capability building approaches to senior practitioners

Competencies:

  • Demonstrable ability to connect with and provide support for children and/ or Adults
  • Familiarity with EPR systems, and high level of computer literacy
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with staff and patients
  • Ability to work alongside others within a multi-disciplinary team setting
  • Professional approach aligned with organisational governance and best practice standards.
  • Excellent time management and ability to manage own workload
  • Previous line management experience
  • Strong desire to uphold quality and professional standards and deliver best practice

Additional Info:

Professional Registration:

A relevant professional qualification in a non-pharmacological or applied practice area (e.g. coaching, CBT, wellbeing practice, psychology, education or related field) or equivalent demonstrable experience in a health-care setting. Evidence of continued professional development in areas such as neurodiversity, behavioural science, wellbeing or service redesign.
